REMINDER Grey's Anatomy EP on Sunday

This note went out to those who RSVPed to our event Sunday. This event is full.

Hi. EVENT REMINDER!

Got your RSVP. See you at ScreenplayLab at 3pm at Raleigh Studios on Sunday. If you can't make it please email me a little note so we can cross off printing a badge for you.

Please arrive between 2:30 and 3pm to sign in. This event is full. To ensure a full house we overbook the theater. From experience, we know that half the people who RSVP won't show up. If you come late you won't get a good seat. It's possible you might not get in at all.

From 3pm to 4pm we will have a workshop reading. The main speaker is from 4:15 to 5:45. If the speaker has time she'll stay afterwards to chat in the lobby.

You'll be asked to sign a release:

In a nutshell, it says that if you think people should pay you for ideas (not scripts) then don't say it because nobody expects to pay for ideas discussed in our open forum. You also promise not to annoy our speaker. Note that no executive who works for a major network can accept unsolicited screenplays. You need an agent.

Our speaker Krista Vernoff is the executive producer of GREY'S ANATOMY, the most popular television drama today. Practically every writer in Hollywood would like to work for her, so don't assume she's coming looking for writers. You're going to have an opportunity to ask Krista questions during our session on Sunday. Please make sure your questions are questions, not opinions, and come straight to the point.

ScreenplayLab presents Grey's Anatomy executive producer Krista Vernoff [IMDB]. Raleigh Studios, 5300 Melrose Avenue, Hollywood, Sunday, Sept. 9th, 2007, 3pm to 6pm. Networking at 2:30pm. GREY'S ANATOMY is the highest-rated scripted series this season. Faced with running two big medical dramas next season, showrunner Shonda Rhimes picked Krista Vernoff as the day-to-day point person on GREY'S ANATOMY. Krista was named executive producer on the show in June. She wrote for three years on CHARMED.

Krista Vernoff Official Bio...

Krista is the Head Writer on ABC's hit drama "Grey's Anatomy." Previously, she wrote for Fox's short-lived but well-loved "Wonderfalls" and spent three years writing about sister witches fighting evil demons in a San Francisco mysteriously bereft of homosexuals on the WB's "Charmed." Other credits include Fox's "Time of your Life" and NBC's "Law and Order." Her first play, "Me, My Guitar and Don Henley" was nominated for a 2005 Ovation award for Best World Premiere Play, and along with the entire writing staff of "Grey's Anatomy," she recently took home a Writer's Guild Award for Best New Show. She was nominated for a 2006 Emmy Award for Dramatic Writing for her episode of Grey's Anatomy, "Into You Like A Train." But, none of this makes her as happy as her husband Kevin and her daughter Cosette, born in March, 2007.

Love you guys!
