Gotham Group manager-producer on Sept. 17th

Gotham Group is a leading management company for writers, artists and directors working in animation and fantasy. Speaking at ScreenplayLab on Sept. 17th: Gotham Group VP Julie Kane-Ritsch, co-producer of the upcoming film THE SPRIDERWICK CHRONICLES, based on the best-selling children's book. Agents can't be producers, but managers can both represent artists and produce their projects. Julie will talk about her career and give tips for getting ahead in the business. Comedy Central presents BOOMTIME. Sketch Comedy Show. Boomtime is the newest incarnation of Berlin's seminal modern dance troupe: Bodies-In-Motion. The three former San Francisco stand-up comedians Alex Koll, Brent Weinbach, and Moshe Kasher have become known as the most famous of all male, defecation-based, anti-communist, avant-garde dance troupes. Sept. 25 Thursday.

Screening of POSTCARDS FROM THE FUTURE on Sept. 10th-12th...

Director Alan Chan (look development TD from THE POLAR EXPRESS and BEOWULF) is screening POSTCARDS FROM THE FUTURE, a 38-minute IMAX-style 4k digital high definition movie about a future astronaut, to showcase renewed efforts at space exploration with NASA'S New Vision For Space Exploration initiative. POSTCARDS was lensed on the Dalsa Origin, with greenscreen work by DP Eric Adkins. Digital projection from a Mediablock cinema server at 4K on a Sony SXRD projector. From digital acquisition through a VFX pipeline to DC prep and digital projection, this project did not touch any film OR tape. Landmark Theatre, Westside Pavillion, 10850 West Pico at Westwood Blvd. September 10-12, 2007, 12:30pm and 1:45pm. Tickets are $7 at the 2nd Fl ticket counter.
