WGA Strike Captain Speaks on Jan. 13th
In the news today, UA and MGM are making a deal with the WGA similar to the deal made by David Letterman's production company Worldwide Pants. Reportedly, the deal was brokered by WGA president Patric Verrone, who you may remember from when he spoke at ScreenPlayLab. The deal is personally good news for Gabrielle and I. Gabrielle works for MGM at Irish Dreamtime. Will Dick Clark Productions and the Golden Globes be next? Lot's happening with the strike. Floyd Byars ("Desperately Seeking Susan", "Mindwalk" and "Making Mr. Right") was preparing "There Goes the Neighborhood" when director Bob Clark ("A Christmas Story") was tragically killed by a drunk driver on Pacific Coast Highway in April. "There Goes the Neighborhood" was placed on hold but has since attached director Scott Marshall and executive producer Garry Marshall.
