ACME Comedy classes and shows starting...


Lots of fun stuff happening at ScreenplayLab host theater ACME Comedy. Free Audition Class on Thursday, January 4th at 7 pm! A great opportunity to join ACME's family and see what they're like. By the way, Gabrielle Pantera is taking the sketch writing course starting on Saturday, January 27th, 1:30-4:30pm. Cost is $475. The Improv course costs $350. The stand-up course costs $325. Actor Michael Taylor Gray is appearing in 'The Bacchae' at the Celebration Theatre opening January 12th. He's one of the actors who's participated in ScreenplayLab. World premiere adaptation by Allain Rochel based on the play by Euripides and directed by Michael Matthews. Radical re-imagining of Euripides' tragedy incorporating original music and dance. The Bacchae explores modern images of gay sexuality as gorgeous, leather-clad, shirtless "West Hollywood" club kids, the play examines what it means to be gay outside of a sexual context. $20. Bill Cunningham brings 'Sex Machine' to Anthem distribution deal...


Writer-Producer Bill Cunningham who spoke at ScreenplayLab last year about Direct-to-DVD (D2DVD) distribution, has gained distribution for 'Sex Machine', winner of the 2006 MicroCinema and DeadCenter Film Festivals. Anthem Pictures acquired worldwide distribution rights. The scary action-thriller is scheduled for a DVD premiere in the U.S. in March 2007 and will be on retail shelves everywhere.
