Fine Arts Theatre now a ScreenplayLab Host...

Screening Services Group, which has the 410-seat theater Fine Arts Theatre in Beverly Hills and the Wilshire Screening Room 42-seat theater has joined us as a host theater. The Screening Services Group hosts The Beverly Hills Hi-Def Film Fest and provides theater rentals (previews and premieres) and executive and celebrity in-home screenings. As you know, we hold free events weekly. That's only possible through the generosity of our host theaters. ScreenplayLab expresses special thanks to Screening Services Group president Michael S. Hall.

We need more host theaters, especially so this time of year when theaters are busy with awards screenings. If you know a Hollywood area theater manager (whether Equity stage or cinema) who would like to host ScreenplayLab please let me know.

ACME Comedy Improv Class Fantastic...

If you didn't make it to the free ACME Comedy workshop class on December 16th (my birthday) you really missed it. Gabrielle and I were both there and had a great time. Games included Biddity Bop, Name Passing in a circle, Hand Squeezes in a circle, and Big Booty. Gabrielle will be taking the improv writers course ($475) and I want to take Sketch 2 ($300). Starting in January. ACME is a ScreenplayLab host theater, a beautiful stage and one of the top comedy theaters and schools in L.A. Call 323-525-0233 for details. http://www.acmecomedy.com

Daisy Lewis Signs with Agent Karl Sanger...

ScreenplayLab star Daisy Lewis is an actress who many of you may remember helped at our event with Dee Wallace Stone at St. Stephen's and has participated in our workshop readings. She signed with agent Karl Sanger this month and is another actress referred through ScreenplayLab who has gained representation as a result. Karl says he's excited to represent Daisy, that he expects to send her on a lot of auditions and that her talents (including bilingual) and winning personality will get her a lot of work. Here she is in IMDB: http://imdb.com/name/nm1380042/

Notable Disasters in the Art of Pitching...

ScreenplayLab speaker Jack Enyart asked that I pass this link on to you. It's Tom Sito’s article in Animation Magazine on NOTABLE DISASTERS IN THE ART OF PITCHING: http://mag.awn.com/?article_no=3111

Cheers,
