ROMEO & JULIUS, a new play by Tess Smith, uses comedy to show people the folly of their own prejudices. "I morphed Shakespeare's classic tragedy into a modern day farce," says Smith, "because laughter is stronger than hate." AMIA presents THE SAND PEBBLES, a 4k restoration of the classic film starring Steve McQueen. Following the success of The Sound of Music, director Robert Wise chose to film Robert McKenna's prize-winning 1962 novel, The Sand Pebbles. Shot in Taiwan and Hong Kong, the film is about a Navy gunboat patrolling the Yangtze River on the eve of the Chinese revolution in 1926.
