We had a fantastic session yesterday with Jeanne Thompson from Sunrise Entertainment. She told us entertaining stories from her career. She shared many helpful tips, for example, what studio is looking for a Halloween picture (MGM). She mentioned her promotion to head of development. She explained why her production company chose to leave a first-look deal to go independent. She talked about the spec market for direct-to-DVD writers ($75k per script) and about using Walmart as a distribution outlet. If you weren't there you really missed it.
